Privacy policy

Built Studio LLC runs builtstudio.co. In this policy, "Built Studio", "we", and "us" mean Built Studio LLC, 169 Madison Ave STE 96097, New York, NY 10016.

This policy covers the site and the notes, emails, and calls that start from it. When we work with you under a signed agreement, that agreement also governs the information you share for the project.

Personal information means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you, such as your name, your email address, or your IP address.

We collect what you send us, and a small amount of information about how people use the site.

Please keep sensitive details, such as health, financial, or government ID information, out of your notes.

We use personal information to:

• reply to your note and set up a free discovery call
• plan, deliver, and support work under a signed agreement
• keep the site fast, secure, and working, and keep spam out of the form
• learn which pages help people, so we can improve the site
• keep business records and meet our legal, tax, and accounting duties
• protect our rights and the safety of others

We sometimes use AI tools to help us summarize a note or draft a reply. We give these tools only what the task needs.

The site's own code stores nothing in your browser. Two analytics tools show us how people use the site:

• Google Analytics counts visits and shows which pages people read. It sets the two cookies below. We turned off its advertising features, and our tag tells Google to keep the data out of ads personalization.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and measures how fast pages load. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.

The form also runs Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells people from bots. It reads signals from your browser and device, such as your IP address, and Cloudflare uses them to run the check.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers a browser extension that turns off Google Analytics. The site works the same without them.

Browsers can also send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, so the site works the same with or without these signals.

We share personal information with service providers that help us run the studio, for the work they do for us:

• Cloudflare hosts the site, carries the form's notes to our inbox, runs the spam check, and measures the site. Cloudflare's privacy policy and its Turnstile privacy addendum explain how it handles data.
• Google hosts our email and runs Google Analytics. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services.
• The tools we work with to schedule and hold calls, store documents, and summarize or draft text, including AI tools, receive what they need to do that work.

We also share personal information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of Built Studio and others, with a company that acquires or merges with Built Studio, and with your permission.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

We work remotely with a global team, so we and our providers may handle your information in the United States and in other countries.

We keep personal information as long as the uses above need it, then delete it:

• Notes, emails, and call details from people who do not become clients: up to two years after our last contact.
• Information about clients and their projects: for the length of our work together, then as long as our agreements and the law require, such as for tax records.
• Google Analytics data: up to 14 months.
• Our hosting logs: up to 7 days.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. Your choices and rights explains how.

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you, and send you a copy
• correct information that is wrong
• delete your information

To ask, email hello@builtstudio.co. We may ask you to confirm that the request comes from you, usually with a reply from the email address you used with us. We answer within 45 days. If we need more time, we tell you why, and we take at most 45 more days.

Several US states give their residents rights like these, and we answer these requests from everyone, wherever they live. We treat people who make a request the same as everyone else. We may keep some information when the law requires or allows it, such as tax records, and we tell you what we keep and why.

Someone you authorize, such as a lawyer, can make a request for you. We may ask for your signed permission and confirm the request with you.

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying with Appeal in the subject line. We answer appeals within 45 days. If we deny an appeal, you may contact the attorney general of your state.

If you live in California, you can use the rights in Your choices and rights as the California Consumer Privacy Act describes them. The law also describes a right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and a right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, and we use sensitive personal information only for purposes the law permits, such as replying to you.

We collect these categories of personal information, and we disclose them for business purposes to the providers in Who we share it with:

We collect them from you, from your browser and device, and from our analytics tools. We use them for the purposes in How we use it, and we keep them for the periods in How long we keep it.

We do not share personal information with other companies for their own marketing.

The site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

We protect information with these safeguards:

• every page loads over an encrypted connection
• a strict security policy lets only the scripts we choose run on the site
• the form checks each note for spam before it reaches us
• access to notes is limited to the people at Built Studio who need it

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information sent over the internet is safe. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

The site links to other websites, such as those of our clients and partners. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

When we change this policy, we post the new version here and update the date at the top. When a change is significant, we also post a notice on the site.
